OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma’s Medicare beneficiaries can learn more about their enrollment options during a series of Senior Summits conducted by the Oklahoma Medicare Assistance Program.
The free events, held at ten locations across the state, are funded through a grant provided by the Senior Health Insurance Counseling Program (SHIP).The summits coincide with Medicare’s upcoming enrollment period for 2013, Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
“There are a few changes this year and navigating the process can be challenging,” said Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak. “We want to make sure that Oklahomans on Medicare have enough information to choose a plan to meets their healthcare and financial needs.”
The summits will be held from Sept. 24 to Oct. 12. At the event, beneficiaries can learn about recent changes to Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Part D plan options for 2013; and about financial assistance programs.
In addition to the Senior Summits, residents with questions can call OK-MAP at 1-800-763-2828.
