OID Opens Booth at Tulsa State Fair, Plans “Ask the Commissioner” Day
OKLAHOMA CITY–Visitors to the Tulsa State Fair can get their insurance questions answered at the Oklahoma Insurance Department’s (OID) Consumer Assistance booth.
“We had a tremendous response to our booth at the Oklahoma State Fair. Now we’re excited for round two in Tulsa,” said Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak.
During the Oklahoma State Fair’s 11-day run, OID employees spoke to thousands of fairgoers and answered hundreds of insurance-related questions. They also handed out educational materials about Medicare, fraud protection, disaster preparedness, the Senior Health Insurance Counseling Program, the National Tornado Summit and more.
The same information will be available at the Tulsa State Fair, which runs from Sept. 27-Oct. 7. The OID booth is located inside the QuikTrip Center, in QuikTrip Zone C. The booth will be manned by OID workers from several different departments. On Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Commissioner Doak will be at the booth to answer questions from consumers.
“We’re here to serve the people of Oklahoma,” Doak said. “Many of our citizens still don’t know how we can help, or even what we do. That’s why events like these are so important.”
The Tulsa State Fair is just one of 44 outreach events the OID has scheduled for the month of September. Other events include Senior Fraud Conferences, Senior Summits for Medicare Enrollment, Workers’ Compensation Issues Forums and more.
